This category is for professors and researchers with international recognition for their achievements in a specific academic area. Applicants must have at least 3 years of experience and must enter the U.S. to pursue a tenure-track teaching or research position.

For executives or managers who have been employed by a multinational company outside the U.S. for at least 1 year in the past 3 years and seek to continue their employment in the U.S.

Eligibility Criteria for EB-2 Visa

• Advanced Degree or Equivalent:

Who Qualifies for EB-3?

• Skilled Workers:

  With at least two years of experience.



• Professionals:

  Those with a U.S. bachelor’s degree or equivalent.



• Other Workers:

  Unskilled labourers for jobs needing less than two years of training.

• You need to have a formal qualification, typically a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, or equivalent.
• You must have at least 2 years of work experience in the industry.
• Your occupation (chef or cook) must be listed on the Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL) or the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL).

• You may need to demonstrate your English proficiency through tests like IELTS or PTE, depending on the requirements of your occupation.

• To apply for a 482 Visa, you must have a sponsoring employer who is approved as a sponsor by the Australian government. The employer will need to demonstrate that they are complying with Australian labor laws, including paying fair wages.

• Your employer must show that they have made genuine efforts to hire Australian workers for the role before sponsoring a foreign worker, ensuring that there is a genuine skills shortage in the market.

• The employer must lodge a nomination application with the Department of Home Affairs to sponsor you for the position. Once the nomination is approved, you can then apply for the visa.

• Depending on the employer’s needs and the occupation list, the 482 visa can be granted for 1 to 4 years.

• The visa is tied to the employer who sponsors you, meaning you cannot change employers without going through a new visa application process. The visa also includes work restrictions and might require you to remain in your position for a certain duration.
